How to check for online random player killers
How to set up and use a random PKer list
1) Create the group:
From the top stripe of the Meridian Game window, select Actions.
This will open a pull down menu, from this menu select Modify Groups.
In the blank under the words New Group enter the short name for your random PK list.
Ex: RPK_Grp
After entering the name of the group hit enter, you will see the name copied on the left side under the word Groups.
2) Add all group members who are currently on line
Now look to the lower right of the same window, you will see a list of the players currently on line. Select the name of the player you want to add to your group and then click on the button located in the middle of the window labeled: "<< Add to group"
This should copy the name of the particular player over to the left side of the window. When you have added all the players currently on line select the button labeled Done located at the lower right corner of the window.
3) Add all group members who are currently off line
Disconnect from Meridian59 and shut down all currently open game clients.
On your Windows systems go to the directory where you have installed the Meridian59 product code. If you installed the game client to the default settings on a standard Windows system the directory will be:
C:\Program Files\Near Death Studios, Inc\Meridian 59 Evolution
Locate the file meridian.ini, copy the file to Save-meridian.ini
Edit the file meridian.ini and look for the section labeled groups. If you have followed the example above you should see an entry as follows:
[Groups]
RPK_Grp=player1, player2, player3
Where player1, 2 and 3 are the names you entered in step 2 above. Edit the file to add the names of the PKers who are not currently on line. Save the file and restart the game client. If you notice anything unusual when you restart the client then put the original version of the file back in place and start over. Please note, the player names added by this method must exactly match the name of the off line player or the group will not work properly.
4) Checking to see which group members are currently on line:
From the Meridian59 command line type: a RPK_Grp
This will result in the list being displayed in your text window with the currently on line members highlighted in red text.
player1, player2, player3
For the example we have been discussing player2 is currently on line.
Note: If you check the status of this list often it is probably worth setting up a comand alias and associating it with a hotkey to make life easier. Please see the tips related to those tasks.
